ODIG is motivated beyond investment and return. It aims to offer diaspora experience, knowledge, service skill transfer to help foster Ethiopia’s emerging economy to complete with the rest of the world. Ethiopia’s recent decades of economic growth along the current reformist government economic policies attract the diaspora community to capitalize and contribute to Ethiopia’s prosperous journey. For these reasons, ODIG aspires to be a model that paves ways for investors to do business in Ethiopia. .
We believe that African’s poverty & economic solution could only be solved by Africans investing in Africa. For ODIG, this means Ethiopian diaspora are highly encouraged to investment in Africa instead of out of Africa. Today, millions of Ethiopian diasporas are spread across the world, the majority in the United States and Europe. And ODIG foresees the power of diaspora playing a leading role in growing their country’s economic development through business investment. According to the World Bank, Ethiopians who live in western countries for example are strong economic instrument byways of remittances to families and friends back in Ethiopia. Likewise, many Ethiopians are successful business owners in the diaspora. And most have a desire to partake in their home country's business but lack the access and the know-how. And by establishing such a business group with various business ideas, many would be able to easily access information and invest in a different project. ODIG hopes investors to build wealth and secure a financial future in which they become an economic transformative engine of their origin.
